Common Features of AiPICT and AiPICX
Built-in Explorer - Have a lot of images? Our custom Explorer features
a handy thumbnail slider to adjust your thumbnail view on-the-fly! Windows users will
appreciate thumbnail support for PSD (PhotoShop), PCD (PhotoCD), multi-page DCX, TIFF fax
files and other file types; it is also much faster -- run a benchmark and see
for yourself.
Create thumbnails of entire drive volumes (e.g., DVD collection, 'downloaded sites' on USB drives)
unattended. Review and manage up to a million files with handy batch delete, move,
rename functions.

Image Viewer -
Tired of waiting for over-bloated apps to initialize plug-ins and filters
just to view a downloaded image? Our Viewer loads quickly and boast
the fastest JPEG implementation; it has a clean interface that can be
configured with numerous viewing and magnification options. You can also view
multi-page DCX and TIFF fax files (with anti-aliasing for easy reading) as well
as PSD (PhotoShop), PCD (PhotoCD), PNG, BMP, PCX, TGA, GIF, WMF and EMF files.
AiPICX includes support for FPX (FlashPix).
Image Toolkit - Need quick fixes for your digital photos?
Novices are immediately empowered with auto-enhancement
functions (e.g., Auto Contrast, Auto Flash, Auto Balance) that
do all the thinking for you. A handy imaging toolbar provides easy
access to one-click image processing solutions, e.g., improve color
balance and exposure, enhance sharpness ...
Included are standard imaging tools to suit everyday needs, such as
"red eye" removal, TWAIN camera and scanner support, instant wallpaper,
variable print sizes and positions, color tuning, brightness and contrast,
rotate-by-degree (to straighten crooked images), smooth resampling,
borders, image text with variables ... more!
Professionals will appreciate advanced image processing functions,
found only in expensive commercial apps (e.g., variable unsharp mask,
variable equalization and remapping). Our unique imaging
functions are also indispensable additions to any digital photo
enthusiasts' arsenal of tools.
Our proprietary functions include a CCD naturalize
filter that corrects the unnatural harshness introduced by CCD camera
matrices, a Cleaning filter that smoothes-out blemishes while
keeping edges sharp, a Gamma saturation function that boosts
only midtone colors, a Gamma Flash Fill function that boosts
only shadows and dark midtones, a Contrast Suppression function
to deal with over-exposures, ... and much more!
Image Editor - both include standard editing functions: copy, paste,
trim, crop. In addition, regions of interest (selections) can be edited
or made into collages -- grid and viewport functions facilitate
the effortless copying and pasting of selections.

Image Processor - Advanced (and unique) filters can combine and sequence
operations to fix (e.g., backlighting, over-exposure, under-exposure) or enhance
any image (e.g., glamour photography). A formidable array of smoothing, sharpening,
contrast enhancement and restoration, histogram-based algorithms and color correction
functions to adjust RGB, hue-luminance-saturation (HLS) and gamma components in vast
combinations with numerous bitmap compute functions.
Batch Image Processor & Converter - You can readily replicate a series of image
processing functions that can be applied to image sets with similar characteristics;
apply batch processing to enhance images (e.g., resize, brighten, rotate, add a border
and text) prior to converting up to a million images unattended. Our unrivaled
set of lab commands let you create unlimited, custom imaging procedures to suit
common and uncommon tasks.
Duplicate Detection - both support CRC functions to identify
exact duplicates; when forced to choose between "identical" images, both feature
an Image Analyzer that quantifies image quality. The Image Analyzer
provides useful image statistics and can tell you which image has more JPEG artifacts
(i.e., has been recompressed) without having to magnify and visually inspect the
images (which can be rather daunting and time-consuming). A Difference
function is also included to visually highlight subtle changes between two
"identical" images. Both also decode JPEG Comments and EXIF data (camera data)
-- as originals usually have additional file info, you can tell immediately
which is the original.

The Slide Album that boasts image matching functions that finds images
that "look like this". Identify all modified duplicates on your entire
hard drive -- or simply organize images visually. You can manually sort images
by correlation, hue, lighting and raw pixel differences to find similar
images. As a database you can query for filename, date, size, comment ... as
well as sort with multiple criteria (e.g., CRC). Moreover, it can
catalog multiple offline volumes too -- more than a million slides
are supported.

Multimedia Playback, Presentations and Slideshows - both can create and
playback AVL slideshows with separate audio, video, graphics tracks and rich text.
Video playback is simple - no "skins" or complicated interface elements. Audio
playback is straightforward; jukebox sequencing of audio files is also included.
Any of the 173 cool effects can assigned to any slide (or randomly generated);
multimedia support includes MKV, MP4, MP3, WAV, AVI, MPEG, Quicktime MOV, AIFF,
CD audio, MIDI, Sun AU, RealAudio, RealVideo,WMA, WMV ...
An AVL Remote Control is included for presentations.
Present and discuss slides for unlimited periods as well as jump to any slide in your
presentation. It is activated when you stop a slideshow by clicking the slideshow window
(or by pressing Esc key) during playback.

The Slide Album can create impressive slideshows or presentations
that can be visually arranged and sorted with variably assigned delay,
background, gamma, rotation, slide comments, windows-in-windows and more.
AVL slideshows can be easily mastered and burned on DVD (or CD); runtime
files to distribute and run your slideshow are included.
The Slide Album performs a dual function; it is a multimedia organizer
that manages entire volumes of source material -- even if archived offline.
With recursive listings, you can quickly list contents of all nested folders
and populate the Slide Album unattended; thumbnail caching, nimbly keeps track
of offline source material.
Batch UnZipper - both can extract multiple ZIP files unattended
(avoids opening and closing ZIP extraction windows).
You can select multiple ZIP files from the built-in Explorer and
conveniently extract all ZIPs to source folder (and subsequently recycle
the source archives) in one step. This utility is a tremendous time-saver
if you repetitively extract multiple image sets from different folders.
